July 2018 Recap: Stepping Up, Facing Fears, and Taking Chances
One of the major things that occurred in July was selling our beautiful home sitting on Boxthorn court in Wichita, KS. It was a raw and bittersweet time as it was our first official home my husband and I got together. I was quite obsessed and wished we could pick it up and take it with us. Check out some of the photos below if you care to see.
We got really lucky with our realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Realty. She helped up prepare our home, remove a few things, and adjust appropriately for photos and showings. Boy, were we in for a treat. So much work went into it, but it quickly, It caught the eye of one of the first couple of people who took a tour, thank god!
We were negotiating a price shortly thereafter. One major concerns the realtor had was our timeline. We we were approaching 4th of July and the month of August which is a slower month of selling homes our realtor shared. August is usually spent vacating and preparing for the new school year. We were nervous to put it on the market late July, especially where we my husband had not received the employment contract yet from his new employers.
At this point, he was offered the position and accepted but not having things formally on paper and signed was a hard pill to swallow putting our house on the market, unsure if this would officially pan out. It was on the road to being official but just not at that moment. We also knew at that time he would start early August and we wanted to arrive at least 2 weeks ahead to get settled into our temporary apartment and get acquainted to the area, which made our timeline even smaller.
Like Mel Robbins always says, 5.4.3.2.1. Just start, everything else will fall into place. If action is not taken within those 5 seconds, you won’t do it. So Husband and I bit the bullet and went full force into it. We put the house on the market, started selling our stuff, and making the necessary steps as if we were moving. Sure enough, it. all. worked. out.
Husband received his contract, with the ring of our doorbell, one early morning. Excitement and relief settled in both of us. A whole new journey awaits just on the horizon. Just look at that smile!
July 2018 Inspiration, Quotes, & Mantras
Of course Mel Robbins was a huge source of inspiration for the both of us this month.
This first quote/writing, I really hope carries us through this exciting adventure. I could imagine it will also be hard. I just hope I fall in love with it all and even more than i ever imagined.
My husband’s love has always felt like this. His love has healed me in so many ways and even more ways I have yet to understand.
Mantra: the unknown can also be exciting.
So, to wrap up July? It was a month of stepping up, facing fears, and taking chances. A month of selling our shit, packing up, and preparing for August’s BIG MOVE to a new country across the world. As well as a month of spending time with friends and loved ones as the big move was rapidly approaching.
On to the next month,
