5 year reflection, home grows

It was five years ago when my hubby and I (&two dogs) sold our home and left our very comfortable lives in Wichita, Kansas to begin our expat journey.

8 moves!! 🤯

Across oceans, temporary housing, and living in a hotel during 2020, from Kansas USA to Switzerland to Hong Kong!

HK was a two year commitment but we decided back in the spring to extend our stay, now going into our third year here and our third apartment to call home! ✨

What a wild ride it’s been so far. I’ve definitely been craving more stability lately than this nomadic lifestyle but I guess we’ll see what the future holds for us. 🙃

Despite all the moves, coping with change, the challenges; loneliness, and fear it’s been a pleasant and expansive journey. One that has also allowed for slowness, joy, and ease. After adjusting to a move again 🙃

A journey that I never thought I’d be on aside from wishing as a child to be far away from the “home” I was living in which was everything a home shouldn’t be. But on the other hand it created the energy for me to be open to life’s possibilities and not feel tied to one particular area. So for that I’m grateful. ❤️

You truly do see the world through other lenses than the one you grew up surrounded by. To immerse yourself in other cultures is the most greatest gift we can give ourselves. To learn and understand how one way of living isn’t the only way or the best way.

Crazy it’s been this long already. Love exploring the world with you and happy birthdayyyy @frankbecker747 🥳  earlier this month we also celebrated our dating anniversary ❤️
